How to Write a Vinted Item Description
Do you use online selling platforms to make a bit of extra money? The key to selling more items on Vinted, eBay and Depop is to ensure your product descriptions are captivating and accurate so your buyer clicks Buy Now straight away. Take a look at my tips below for how to write a great item description on Vinted (or other online platform) to raise the most money from your garments!
1- Fill Out the Whole Title Section
Vinted gives you 100 characters for the item’s Title, so use them! This is what buyers will read when they first see your item, so the more accurate the description, the better.
Include the item’s size, brand, colour, material and type , plus any other defining features.
e.g. Size 8 M&S Blue Linen Midi Skirt, Pockets and Elastic Waist
2 - Be Descriptive in the Description
Use the item description box to expand on the details in your title, include item measurements and cram in those keywords. The search feature on Vinted searches both your item title and description, so use this section to catch as many buyers as possible!
e.g. Size 8 Marks and Spencer navy blue linen midi skirt with elastic waistband, tie front and pockets. 100% linen material, true to size. Great lightweight summer skirt. Length approx 80cm and waistband approx 38cm.
3 - Pick an Accurate Item Category
Vinted sometimes chooses the Category for you, so check it’s picked the right one and narrow it down further if you can. The more specific your category, the easier it is for buyers to find your item.
e.g. Check the Midi Skirts category is selected rather than Knee-Length Skirts.
4 - Fill Out Every Item Detail
This part is easy to skip if you can’t be bothered - but make the effort, it’s worth it! Buyers can use search filters to filter in (or out) your items. If the item details aren’t filled in, then your item will be automatically filtered out, even if it matches their search.
Check the item’s label for the exact size and materials, be honest about the item’s condition and always choose two colour categories.
